As part
of the TSG Infrastructure Applications team, the Systems Engineer is
responsible for messaging, and collaboration applications within the Global TSG
group. This position will have an emphasis on the implementation and
support of our current and future Exchange messaging infrastructure and Active
Directory with its associated services. This person may also
provide support, troubleshooting, maintenance and upgrades for other
applications as needed. They will also test, deploy, and as needed design new
systems and services, working closely with implementation specialists, business
owners and other TSG teams as needed. The Systems Engineer will be an
escalation point for the overall Global TSG team.
Each
member of the Infrastructure Applications team will have certain areas of focus
within the team’s set of responsibilities, but will also have to
work with and maintain other technologies maintained by the team.
- Exchange and Active Directory
will be the primary focus of this position
- Assist in the operations
and maintenance of a Microsoft Exchange 2016 environment.
- Create, configure, and
maintain Exchange databases, mailboxes, address lists, distribution groups, and
message routing.
- Assist as a Domain
Administrator for the Microsoft Active Directory forest/domain..
- At times, implement,
maintain, and support components of:
- Mobile Device Management;
for secure information access and recommend evolving technology in the MDM
space
- Information-sharing tools
and collaborative technologies, including
- Conference/Desk booking
systems
- Polycom videoconferencing
- Plan and coordinate the
testing and deployment of new or upgraded systems with other TSG teams.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level
support for Local, Regional, and Software Development TSG teams.
- Provide daily system
analysis to proactively predict and detect systems errors or anomalies in order
to ensure maximum uptime and service quality.
- Coordinate vendor
services and support for infrastructure applications.
- Communicate frequently
and consistently with management and team members regarding project status,
troubleshooting, change management and shared knowledge.
- Identify opportunities to
lower costs and/or improve service offerings.
- Be a resource to Bain
teams outside of TSG, including case teams and the Legal department.
- Write and maintain
documentation that describes operating procedures and system configuration.
- Perform other duties as
assigned or as responsibilities dictate.
- Relevant bachelor’s
degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Over 4 years of hands-on
experience with deploying and supporting general infrastructure technologies
- Experience working with
Microsoft-specific infrastructure technologies
- Advanced level experience
with Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013/2016
- PowerShell scripting
- Experience with mail
spam/security filtering appliances, such as Proofpoint Email Protection
- Experience with Cloud
based applications such as Office 365 and Skype for Business
- Advanced detailed
knowledge in AD architecture and infrastructure (LDAP, Directory Replication,
group policy, security, schema changes, etc.)
- Strong understanding and
background of working with a complex Active Directory, LDAP, and PKI
infrastructure and the requirement of strictly following standards, procedures
and processes.
- Advanced knowledge of
DNS, DHCP, Kerberos and Windows Authentication
- High performance and
standards as demonstrated by academic or previous job experience
- Effective collaborator
with both non-technical and TSG staff in all of Bain’s worldwide offices
- Motivated self-starter
with a high attention to detail
