1.     Job purpose

Responsible for installing, configuring, testing, reporting, monitoring, supporting and maintaining of the IT Infrastructure deployed across any project executed by the company.

Responsible for supervising, managing and motivating team members.

The position involves a high degree of exposure, working most of the times with executive management, managing directors and Company’s clients to deliver the Video Wall services.

2.     Duties and responsibilities

As an Audio-Visual Systems Engineer, you will be mainly responsible for AV Systems installation, configurations and maintenance on-site as well as the internal IT infrastructure and reporting them to Engineering Manager.

  • All the activities, tasks and services should be completed as per the support and maintenance schedule.
  • The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • As an Audio-Visual Systems Engineer, you will be mainly responsible for AV Systems installation, configurations and maintenance on-site as well as the internal IT infrastructure and reporting them to Engineering Manager.
  • All the activities, tasks and services should be completed as per the support and maintenance schedule.
  • The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • VoIP system troubleshooting, replacing failed units, re-routing/terminating fiber/copper cables and supporting Avaya and Cisco Call Managers.
  • VTC System and AV System troubleshooting, replacing failed units, re-routing cables and supporting.
  • Fracarro IPTV System troubleshooting, replacing failed units, adding/removing channels, updating satellite frequencies, re-routing/terminating fiber/copper cables and supporting.
  • Replacing preconfigured failed switches, UPS, Patch Panels and re-routing/terminating fiber/copper cables.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance of equipment in accordance with agreed schedules and to manufacturer specifications.
  • Installation, configuration, testing and maintaining video / audio equipment.
  • Video / audio equipment setup and support.
  • Ensure all sites are connected on time and receiving / transmitting good audio / video.
  • Site certification of all new and relocated video conference systems.
  • Assist with support for video / audio equipment problems.
  • Investigate faults and recommend further actions to rectify.
  • Co-ordination with support staff.
  • Awareness of, and compliance with, the Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide field operations support to internal and external customers in accordance with the terms of the customer contract and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • To ensure the correct functioning and maintenance of all internal and external customer IT equipment and services.
  • Perform onsite interventions as a result of a Service Desk request within the terms of the customer contract and SLAs.
  • Carry out local repairs of faulty equipment and services to the highest standards and co-ordinate the resolution with the appropriate resolver group.
  • Manage the replacement of faulty equipment using spares and ensuring the timely replenishment the spare according to prescribed availability and sparing policy.
  • Adhere to installation guidelines and industry best practices in order to deliver quality Field Operations.
  • Use the appropriate tools and equipment to perform the installation, intervention, and repairs in accordance with the Field Operations guidelines and instructions where provided.
  • Reporting and escalating all observed problems to proper operational escalation points.
  • Perform tests on hardware and software components and be responsible for the co-ordination of local acceptance testing with Customers and 3rd parties.
  • Monitor team and system performance and report on metrics.
  • Setting clear team goals.
  • Delegating tasks and set deadlines.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports.
  • Control of Quality of engineering documents with regard to Quality assurance basis.
  • Ensure proper recording and closure of all issues.
  • Document knowledge in the form of knowledge base tech notes and articles.
