Council is seeking a Civil Design Engineer for a Permanent Full Time role

Salary range from $89,687.52 to $104,037.96 + 10.5% Superannuation

Opportunity awaits

You will undertake investigation, design, drafting, cost estimation, environmental assessment and all pre-construction planning of local government infrastructure projects in accordance with relevant drafting, engineering and environmental legislation, standards, guidelines and policies (local, state and national). Projects include roads, intersections, roundabouts, car parks, pedestrian facilities, shared paths, sporting & recreation facilities, buildings, bridges & stormwater drainage structures & pipelines.

What we are looking for (essential criteria)

  • Degree in Civil Engineering and relevant experience.
  • Competent in completing road and traffic facility designs to RMS and AUSTROADS guidelines.
  • Competent in stormwater drainage analysis, designs and drafting to AR&R 1987
  • Competent in the use of Civilcad 6.0 or higher, including the road reconstruction and intersection design modules.
  • Competent in the use of AutoCAD 2009 or higher.
  • Knowledge of Water Sensitive Urban Design Principles.
  • Experience in the use of Stormwater Drainage analysis and design packages such as DRAINS, RAFTS, HECRAS.
  • Experience in preparation of technical specifications and contract documentation
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy with spreadsheets, databases, word processing and web /corporate base applications.
  • An understanding of road construction and maintenance techniques
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence.
