About the Role
As a Cook/Kitchen hand, you will be responsible for assisting the Food Services Team Leader to prepare and serve tasty and nutritious means for lunch and dinner. We are looking for someone, who is also capable of stepping into the Cook role at weekends, so confidence in the kitchen with meal preparation is important along with the following:
- Prepare morning and afternoon tea, aswell as daily mealtimes
- Clear tables when all residents have finished eating
- Ensure meals are served at the appropriate size and temperature
- Maintain daily food and fridge temperature checks
- Operate within food hygiene standards and protocols
- Be considerate of residents during mealtimes and ensure their needs are met appropriately
As there will be a requirement to carry out meal preparation, some flexibility regarding daily duties will be expected to meet the needs of the kitchen.
Working hours will be Sat/Sun 09.30-18.00 as Weekend Cook and then Mon/Tue/Wed 13.30-19.30 as Kitchen Hand, so forget those long evening shifts and lack of social life, it’s the perfect hospitality role that enables you to enjoy some work/life balance. There is a possibility of additional hours at time to cover leave and so flexibility and willingness to help at these times is always appreicated!

- Experience working in a kitchen (preferred)
