Synopsis:

Coordinator Communications and Engagement

  • Contract Full Time (4 Years)
  • Supportive Work/Life Balance
  • Attractive salary package of circa $134,000 per annum (including superannuation)
  • Location – Rockhampton

 

Your new role

 

An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic, self-motivated professional to lead the fast-paced Communications and Engagement team.

In this key leadership role, you will coordinate the operational functions of the Communications and Engagement team to lead media, marketing, community education and community engagement of Council’s core business units.

Working closely with the Mayor, Councillors and Council’s management team, you will assist in the provision of information and communications advice that is appropriate, relevant, informative and timely.

 

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check – Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

Application Criteria

  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to drive and motivate your team to develop an inclusive culture, foster a collaborative approach and ensure the business performance of the unit
  • Strong written and oral communication with experience in the development and production of media releases, feature articles, digital content, marketing, community education and promotional literature
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying potential critical issues and preparing appropriate communication strategies for sensitive media issues in a corporate and politically sensitive environment
  • Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills with the ability to consult and liaise professionally with media groups, senior management and all key stakeholders
