Program Overview

The Ausgrid Graduate program commences in late January 2024 and paves the way for our Graduates to perform, develop and thrive in their careers, with access to senior leaders, mentors, accelerated development opportunities and networking.

Across the two-year program, you will be allowed to work on high-impact projects directly delivering against our business strategy. A minimum of 4 rotations in the program will offer you a breadth of experiences, work, and knowledge to aid in building the foundations for a successful career.

Engineering

Ausgrid has a diverse team of over 300 Engineers all actively engaged in analysing, planning and designing as well as operating and maintaining Australia’s largest electricity distribution network. We have been a leader in our field powering the east coast for over a century and are now looking for graduates to help continue that legacy.

In your position as a Graduate Engineer, you will have opportunities to learn from world-class Engineers who sit on national and international technical panels such as CIGRE and experienced multidisciplinary designers who design and refresh our network of high-voltage substations, transmission and distribution systems.

We will expose you to operational and field activities so that you are well equipped for a career in our front-line actively operating, constructing and maintaining our network or automating it for the future. This may include being a key part of the Advanced Distribution and Management System (ADMS) and the protection of SCADA systems that work in tandem or being a project engineer in our capital projects team.

We also offer office-based careers in areas such as our advanced Asset Management and Planning functions where we plan and optimise the network. You will work with Systems Analysts who plan, design and model our network. We have opportunities in our regulatory and innovation areas where we are actively engaged in new network commercial models, cutting-edge technology in protection and control, and other areas such as Electrical vehicle charging, STATCOMs and community batteries.

 

Eligibility

  • You have completed your relevant University degree in the last 3 years or will have completed it before the program commencing in January 2024.
  • Aligned degrees include Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering degrees
  • Applicants with double degrees are actively encouraged to apply
  • At the time of application candidates must hold Australian/New Zealand citizenship or Permanent Residency
  • Valid driver’s license may be required
  • Roles will commence in January 2024
