About the Opportunity:

At Jacobs, we push the limits of what’s possible to make the world smarter and more connected. We are playing a key role on one of the most iconic giga projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, arguably one of the largest projects in the world.

As Senior Worker Welfare / Employment Practices Head you will be responsible for all aspects of Workers Welfare (WW) and Employment Practices (EP) across the Project Sites and Accommodation Facilities. You will also develop, manage and actively maintain best-in-class policies, guidelines, codes and standards for EP requirements as included within the organisation’s WW Standards. Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain, update and manage the EP elements of the organisation’s WW Standards
  • Remain up-to-date on latest WW H&S procedures, announcements, and directives
  • Provide training to Contractors and Subcontractors on H&S elements of the WW Standards and other audit and reporting systems
  • Ensure Contractor and Subcontractor compliance with system and process requirements
  • Conduct audits and inspections at Accommodation facilities based on the WW Standards and based on the outputs from the H&S system
  • Assist in conducting WW site audits and act as the main point of contact with the Technical Delivery Office HSE team
  • Support the Procurement Procedures & Audit Process including Pre-Tender related to WW Standards
  • Coordinate with WW Officers on incident notification process and provide training/awareness sessions on incident and crisis management
  • Manage and coordinate the investigation of serious incidents at Accommodation facilities to determine root cause and the appropriate corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences
  • Act as the focal point for Crisis Management at all Accommodation facilities
  • Develop crisis management capabilities for Accommodation facilities by designing a multi-party crisis management structure and building up the Crisis Management Plan
  • Set up and execute an ongoing exercising and testing program for response plans

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Degree educated – background in HSE preferred
  • Minimum of 20 years’ experience in health and safety related roles with at least 5 years in a managerial role
  • Previous experience working within a worker welfare capacity
  • Proven experience working on major programmes
  • Open to relocating to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
