About the opportunity
The Middle East is undergoing a significant transformation to support wellbeing, land regeneration and climate action while also driving infrastructure efficiency and economic diversification. Jacobs is actively partnering with our clients to deliver support this change through strategic advisory, city and regional scale land planning, development of waste management strategies and plans, environmental planning and permitting and digital delivery.
Your impact
Support client managers and others with client facing responsibilities as they undertake activities which include but not limited to the following. You will need to sell and deliver growth opportunities with private, commercial and governmental clients with respect to general environmental and waste management consulting services. Supporting the wider environment team on tasks as required, this may include on environmental permitting and planning, audits, management plan development, supervision, policy development, specialist technical inputs, project coordination as well as participation in client interactions and delivery. The need to identify changes in the market and new opportunities that arise within the target market which are not identified in the business plan. Maintaining an ongoing working relationship with multi-disciplinary professionals within and across relevant Sections and Operations to provide direct, rapid and efficient communications on all technical aspects of project tasks.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
As a successful candidate you will have a degree from a recognized university in an appropriate field such as environment engineering, sustainability and related disciplines and experience working in environment and sustainability consultancy.
Ideally have 3-4 years’ experience in solid waste management, including strategies for waste minimization, recycling and solid waste logistics. The selected candidate shall also be preferred to have a degree of environmental generalist experience in supporting ESIAs and masterplans. Preferably with experience in countries with evolved environmental regulatory and legislative structures, with 3 years of GCC regional market experience with prior exposure and understanding of key clients, regional growth strategies, and critical environmental issues being faced by the region.
Outline of preferred experience below:
- Development of solid waste strategies and plans.
- Understanding of sustainability credit systems and KPIs.
- Reasonable degree of experience in multidisciplinary coordination.
- Ability to review architectural drawings and provide design input.
- Ability to support in the development of drawings and equipment specification for solid waste systems.
- Experience in supporting development of ESIAs in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Understanding of environmental regulations across key middle east markets such as KSA, UAE & Qatar.
- Experience in supporting the development of project presentations.
