- Using prescribed methods, performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced Engineer.
- Performs specific Engineering tasks (under the guidance of a more senior Engineer) on existing standard product lines. Tasks may include stress analysis, hydraulic / pneumatic / electrical circuit design and analysis, testing, sub-routine and human operator interface programming, etc.
- Develops engineering models and /or drawings (using company standards and tools) including Bills of Materials (BOMs). Ensures that documentation is clear, complete, accurate and compliant with appropriate company standards.
- Processes engineering releases, change orders, change requests.
- Assists in developing test plans to validate equipment and/or component design. Performs tests, analyzes results, and prepares test reports.
- Provides production shop support as required. Tasks may include fit-up of components to verify/resolve interference issues or other Engineering-related tasks.
- Performs machine quality inspections prior to machine shipments. Generates documentation to support quality compliance programs.
- Assists with machine installations and fields troubleshooting, as required.
- Becomes familiar with all company safety standards.
- Performs all commitments/tasks in a timely and professional manner.
- Performs other duties/responsibilities as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (ME, EE), BSET (Electrical or Mechanical Emphasis) or prolonged and extensive coursework in the required technical field.
- EIT preferred, not required and will not disqualify
- Education requirement or three years comparable experience in an engineering environment, OEM environment experience preferred.
- Able to apply theoretical knowledge, practical experience, and current technology to create new products and improvements to existing products.
- Able to apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results, and follow operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
- Experience in the following software packages is required
- 3-D CAD (SolidWorks / ProE) (Mechanical Engineers)
- PLC and HMI platforms (Allen Bradley and Siemens) (Electrical Engineers)
- Electrical schematic design software (Promise*E, E-Plan, AutoCAD Electrical) (Electrical Engineers)
- 2D drafting package (AutoCAD preferred)
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Computer Based Mathematical Analysis Software (MathCAD or equivalent)
- Possesses good communication skills, a positive “get-it-done” attitude, and the ability to work as part of a team in a demanding production environment.
- Travel as needed.
- Sit at a desk or computer for extended periods of time.
- Move about the office and factory with occasional lifting, bending and reaching.
- Dial, hear and respond to telephone calls and inquiries.
- Communicate effectively (visually and verbally) with internal and external contacts.
- Meet requirements of daily attendance on job for a full, continuous work schedule.
