About the role

We are currently seeking experienced Project Engineers with civil/structural experience to join our team in GEELONG or PERTH. As a Project Engineer you will be responsible for the successful execution of multi-disciplined projects both internally and externally, applying the best practice to ensure a timely delivery with a strong focus on the budget and profitability.

You will also be responsible for;

  • The overall accountability for your project delivery and margin
  • Ensuring the project’s compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications
  • Managing project procurement ensuring on time delivery, ordering materials from suppliers which will meet project lead times and budget constraints
  • Performing quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel performance and reporting on the project’s status.
  • Preparing manufacturing & construction schedule in conjunction with the project planner ensuring delivery meets formal agreed contract timetables.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, work performance and desirable outcomes
  • Building and maintaining vital relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • The coordination of employees, subcontractors, procurement, plant, and equipment as required
  • Leading and supporting the project team through project activities and any changes to the project scope.
  • Providing advice, support and assistance to project staff and clients in relation to any technical and/or complex problems that may arise during project lifecycle
  • Liaising with Design & Drafting team to complete design & drafting works as required and resolve technical queries

Essential Skills and Attributes

  • Relevant tertiary or trade qualification in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical)
  • Minimum of 2 years prior experience in a similar role
  • High level verbal and written communication skills
  • Project Management experience /qualification
  • Highly effective skills in negotiating, evaluating, and administering contracts, specifications, Australian standards.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
  • Highly effective planning, organising and problem-solving skills together with the ability to lead, motivate and influence others
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Sound contracts and commercial acumen
