Planning Engineer

Job Purpose

• Support planning functions for Category IV to VI projects are in line with department business strategy and ensuring the implementation of project scheduling and monitoring processes for the department.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)

• Role is concerned with providing assistance to ensure timely and in-budget execution of complex brownfield projects by providing functional planning process knowledge and expertise.
• Major challenges are (1) controlling uniformity across enormous projects portfolio for scheduling functions, (2) embedding appropriate uniform procedures for planning, scheduling functions at Qatargas projects. (3) Addressing distinctive requirements of Projects planning function and shutdown planning functions.

Key Job Accountabilities

• Support integrated Projects Planning, Scheduling and Cost Controls procedures for Qatargas projects, CAT-IV to VI projects.
• Ensure planning and scheduling processes delivery to meet department objective.
• Maintain clear reporting and lines of communication requirements for planning and scheduling with projects management teams and maintain close working relationships.
• Provide schedule input to Work Program & Budget (WP&B) projects budget data and provided to Project Assurance section for compilation.
• Investigate contractual deviations, ensure timely review, compilation of contracts data in terms of schedule for optimum analysis.
• Support performance analysis process leading to benchmarking and increased awareness of best practice pertaining to base business in projects control functions.
• Provide Shutdown planning and progress reporting support
• Support enhancement of work methods and practices within a projects control functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Project Management.

Knowledge and/or Experience

• 6 years’ of multi-discipline experience in the oil & gas industry with special emphasis in planning and scheduling across the project phases.
