Quantity Surveyor

Experienced quantity surveyor required by our client, who is a ground-works and civil engineering sub-contractor, to join them on a permanent contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates with experience in residential, commercial, and industrial projects. You will play a significant role at the heart of each of the projects you assist on, with the client incorporating projects which include earthworks, drainage works, SUDS works, concrete works, hard landscaping, foundations, road construction.

Examples of the tasks expected to be completed by the successful candidate are as follows:

• Interim sub-contractor payments and site measurements.
• Ensuring that costs targets are met in accordance with the build programme through the effective management of the site team and sub-contractors.
• Prepare the cost/value reconciliation reports accurately.
• Liaising with site and contracts managers.
• Preparation of take-off for orders.
• Value and track changes/variations.
• Attend site meetings and liaise with main contractor QS team.

Examples of the key skills required to complete these tasks are as follows:

• Basic understanding of Auto-CAD.
• Some experience in managing contractual claims.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong planning and organising skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Good communication skills.
• Good team worker.
• General IT skills.

The role will involve some driving so a valid license is required. The post will be based in and around the Falkirk area, with some projects further afield which are based around the central belt.
