Honeywell’s ACST team is seeking an Advanced Mechanical Analysis Engineer for our Broomfield, CO location. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, heat transport, and thermal shielding, and will apply that knowledge to the design of cryogenic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop models and perform thermal analyses to inform decisions about cryogenic design and system behavior
  • Work directly with Cryogenic Scientists, Cryogenic Engineers, & Mechanical Engineers to analyze & optimize cryogenic systems in support of laboratory experimentation & system development
  • Support the design and development of integrated solutions with cryogenics being a key component
  • Partner with Principal Investigators, Program Management and Project Engineers for project execution
  • Perform trade studies, write reports, contribute to project proposals, and create project cost estimate and assist with budgeting

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in applying finite elemental analysis (FEA) with an emphasis on thermal analysis
  • U.S. citizenship in order to obtain and maintain government security clearance

    WE VALUE:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering
  • Proficiency in computer aided modeling software for analysis & optimization utilizing tools such as Comsol, ANSYS, Thermal Desktop, MATLAB, or Python[SM(1]
  • Experience in FEA modeling, simulation, & analysis of thermal phenomena in cryogenic systems
  • Experience in modeling, simulation & analysis of stress, vibration, electromagnetic, & thermodynamic phenomena
    Familiarity with high performance computing concepts and experience scripting job schedulers for complex simulations and calculations
  • Knowledge of optimization theory using standard symbolic and/or numerical toolkits
  • Strong organizational & leadership skills, as well as be good at working and negotiating with customers and partners
  • Initiative to identify and complete tasks with evolving requirements and minimal direction

Non-Incentive Eligible
Salary Range:$91,200.00 – $137,000.00
