We are looking for Registered (Adult) Nurses / RGNs, or Paramedics with 2 years’ post qualification experience, with a real passion for developing clinical, forensic and wider skills.
You’ll be working alongside the Police in custody suites caring for detainees: many of whom are vulnerable and have a range of mental and physical healthcare issues.

What does the role involve?
The custody suites can be an energetic place to work, with no two shifts the same. Whilst detained, we provide individuals with all their physical, mental healthcare and wellbeing needs, as well as gather any forensic samples needed by the police to aid their investigations. Making careful records on our computerised systems, you’ll be assessing whether people are fit to be detained or released, administering medications when needed, and working with local Liaison and Diversion teams to address root cause issues that can actually prevent future crime.
What are the minimum requirements?
- You’ll be a qualified RN Adult, RMN’s (with dual registration), RGNs or Paramedics
- Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in a patient-facing role within a relevant field (General Practice, Emergency Medicine, Walk in Centres, Substance Misuse Services, Prison Healthcare, Mental Health, or Ambulance Service) as an Adult RN or Registered Paramedic
- 3 years UK residency
- You’ll need a current manual driving license with no restrictions to sometimes travel to other custody suites or local hospitals.
- All candidates are subject to police vetting checks
