POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager Biomedical Engineering, the Biomedical Engineering Technologist provides skills and technical knowledge to support functional, safe and reliable healthcare that promotes the well-being of patients throughout Grey Bruce Health Services. The incumbent will work within a team environment to repair, and maintain and provide emergency repair service for medical equipment in a safe and timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• College diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology.
• Demonstrated knowledge of complex hospital medical devices, systems, codes and standards
• Excellent computer skills in the following applications: MS Office, Computerized Maintenance Management System, computer networks, devices and software.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and team skills
• Effective trouble shooting, problem-solving, decision-making and organizational skills
• A strong customer service orientation
• Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education
• Available for overtime, on-call, weekends and flexibility in hours of work
• Possession of a valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License
• Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
• Adherence to GBHS ‘CARE’ Behaviours (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) and ‘LEAD’Competencies (Lead by example, Empower, Achieve results, Develop others) and a commitment to a safe workplace free of violence and harassment

Preferred

• Two (2) years Biomedical Engineering repair and maintenance experience
