Role Overview

We are looking for:

  • A Project Manager who can take up the challenge of finding and building green solutions in the context of the Circular Economy together with other companies and collaborators
  • We are in the search of a new team member to join us on this transformation journey. More specifically, you will focus on projects around the German soda ash plants and you will report directly to the Project line Manager with a dotted line to Rheinberg site management
  • You to work on our mission to contribute to Solvay’s roadmaps on sustainability and help us to reach the ambitious targets to reduce the environmental footprint and contribute to a better world

We count on you for:

  • As part of the team you support and help the Rheinberg site to achieve the Solvay One Planet targets of minimizing the production of by-products/wastes and improving their valorization and ReUse as well as avoiding their disposal whenever possible for instance
  • You will be responsible to investigate the legal context of the waste management, with initial focus on combustion ashes, to define ways & opportunities for their valorization
  • You will investigate the market, with the help of your supervisors, with the aim to find partners that have the interest to valorize by-products/combustion ashes and to invest in long term solutions.
  • You will follow-up, with the help of your supervisors, the leads to transform ideas into real business
  • You will help the plant teams to deploy strategies and means to reduce the production of specific by-products/wastes

You will bring:

  • You have a Master degree in technical/legal matters (e.g. environmental engineering) and ideally 1-2 years experience in a business related field
  • You have knowledge of legal frameworks of residues (wastes & by-products) and know the basics of chemistry
  • You combine your strong analytical with strategic thinking by the ability to obtain as well as analyze information from different sources and elaborate information in business oriented objectives
  • Your empathic ability to build connections and relationships starting from first contact helps you to be a strong team player and work in an multicultural environment
  • Aside from being structured, you are flexible, adaptable as well as a doer and always look for a solution
  • With your entrepreneurial mindset you are able to tackle problems from various angles

  • This position is a VIE, an International Internship within a company. To become an International Intern in a Company, you must fulfill the following conditions:
    • Be aged at least 18 but not yet 29 : you must be 28 when you start your assignment, bearing in mind that a V.I.E contract always starts on the 1st of the month.
    • EU citizen
    • Be in good standing with regard to the national service obligations of your country(ies) (defence ID n°).
    • Have a clean criminal record.
    • Be able to devote yourself full time to your assignment : no part-time work, entrepreneurship, studies or paid activity at the same time as your V.I.E.
