Civil Design Engineer

The Opportunity

Working in the Infrastructure & Works group the Civil Design Engineer will provide engineering design and prepare documentation for construction and civil infrastructure projects undertaken by Maitland City Council.

Drawing on your technical expertise you will provide advice to Council’s internal and external customers on projects and liaise with stakeholders during the preparation of design matters and standards. In this role you will assist a diverse range of clients and assess the feasibility of significant infrastructure development and asset management projects. Your previous industry experience will have you well placed to provide innovative solutions during the design phase of Council projects and help drive successful project outcomes.

You

You will possess a degree in Civil Engineering and demonstrated experience in a civil infrastructure design environment at a senior level. Your contemporary industry knowledge and experience in civil design will mean you are an expert in the following:

• Design for roads, drainage, cycle ways and recreation facilities
• Drainage modelling and design including surface and subsoil drainage
• Construction procedures for civil engineering works
• Quantity calculations and estimating

Demonstrated experience in project management and an ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders will enhance your ability to develop strong relationships with clients. Your ability to manage conflicting demands and execute projects within appropriate timeframes and on budget will make you an asset to our Engineering and Design team.
