The successful candidate will work in the Breckenridge, Colorado office and provide civil engineering analysis and design on a variety of municipal, commercial, and private development projects, including stormwater, grading, multiuse paths, complete/green streets projects, water and sewer pipelines, pump stations, retaining walls, bridges, and related ancillary structures. The ideal candidate will be ready to be a part of and grow with a team. Mentoring of more junior staff is expected, along with a desire to learn and grow from more senior engineers and project managers.
Your Role
- Civil Engineering infrastructure design that includes streets, grading, hydraulic design, erosion control, storm drainage, water distribution, and sanitary sewer collection systems;
- Perform conceptual and detailed design calculations and analyses;
- Support preparation of detailed engineering reports and supporting documents;
- Support preparation of construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates;
- Ensure standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design projects;
- Evaluate alternatives, resolve technical issues and interface with other engineering disciplines;
- Resolve questions, plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, cost-effective and compliant manner;
- Provide construction support services (field meetings, submittal review, shop drawing review, RFI’s)
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineering Required; 5-10+ years of experience;
- Colorado Professional Engineering license (PE) preferred;
- EIT Certificate required, and the ability to obtain a Colorado Professional Engineering license within 6 months;
- Background will ideally include project work and process knowledge of grading and drainage (using Civil3D), hydrology and hydraulics, and streets;
- Strong communication, report writing, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills;
- Desired background to include experience with municipal, commercial, or residential infrastructure projects that includes the design and permitting of the following types of projects: roadway, street, bikeway, erosion control, grading, storm drainage, water distribution, water quality and sanitary sewer collection systems;
- Ability to self-direct and self-check plan sets and reports; Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D, word processing, and spreadsheet management programs with working knowledge of applicable codes;
- Experience with Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel
Salary range for EIT: $73,000 – $90,000, depending on experience
Salary range for PE: $78,000 – $130,000, depending on experience
