Complete job description

As an engineering/constructor trainee in Utilities at NCC, you will experience the construction industry up close. You will gain experience with the various phases of our projects and will become familiar with management, finances and offers. In short, you will get to experience what it means both to be in the office and out in production.

As an intern at NCC Forsyning, you will experience a varied everyday life where you will get to know the construction industry on several fronts. Among other things, you will work with traffic management in urban areas with heavy traffic, coordination with the client, municipalities and third parties, time planning, security, quality assurance and become part of the daily production. You will learn to manage projects and keep momentum. You will also get an insight into the tender work, if that interests you.

With us, you are not just an extra hand; we know that you come to learn, so you will have the opportunity to be involved in everything, and you will come back to the studio smarter.

“After completing an internship at NCC, you go back to school with 20 kg of extra knowledge in your backpack. Many things fit together better and you have gained knowledge you had no idea existed. I could not have wished for a better internship in some respects. Right from day one, I felt welcome and welcomed.”

Diana, former intern at NCC

Jump into your work clothes and become part of our team!

NCC Forsyning works with supply projects in Copenhagen and the surrounding area for customers such as HOFOR, Radius and Energinet. It is about fibre, electricity cables, sewerage and district heating. In short, we work to contribute to security of supply when it comes to water, electricity and heat.

With us, you will quickly become an important part of the team, and you will work closely with experienced colleagues who deal with all kinds of construction, paving and supply work east of the Great Belt. You will be part of a department with approx. 40 salaried employees and 250 hourly employees.

We are looking for two interns for autumn 2023 for the following projects:

The energy grid
The project for Energinet concerns the renewal of a 132 kV supply cable. Overall, the project is 20 km spread over four sections in Copenhagen and the surrounding area. The project you, as our intern, will be working on is 4 kilometers long and will take place in Copenhagen. The project consists of a combination of track excavation, controlled underboring, pipe welding, flushing of cables and re-establishment. In connection with the above work, traffic management, digging in depth, coordinating meetings with municipalities and other stakeholders as well as general project management are carried out.

As an intern, you will be part of project review, construction meetings, authority processing, documentation, traffic management and various ad hoc tasks. In addition, you will also be able to be involved in the preparation of offers and be part of our production, so that you experience the construction industry both in the office and out in production.

Gentofte District Heating Project

The project in Gentofte deals with green conversion, where the municipality wants to establish a full district heating network. NCC has a contract for 6 years, where sales must be DKK 6,000,000. We work as a joint consortium with Brøndum on the contract. It gives the opportunity to see the project from other professional angles and experience the close cooperation in a consortium.

NCC is responsible for everything in the contract as a contractor, including project review, construction meetings, authority processing, citizen contact, traffic diversions and everything during design/execution. On the export side, we carry out, for example, digging in roads and on private plots. Finance is a large part of the construction work; you will therefore also participate in finance meetings and help to think about optimizations in the implementation. As an intern on the project, you will get around all the phases of the project and will therefore become familiar with management in the field.
