Job Description

Complete job description
Would you like to see what the Armed Forces hide behind the fence?
We are looking for a project/construction manager for the renovation and maintenance of a tense and very atypical building mass that you won’t find anywhere else.

Do you think that renovation and maintenance of buildings and facilities such as aircraft hangars, runways, firing ranges and parachute towers sound exciting?
If that is the case, then right now you have the opportunity to become part of our small dream team in Capabilities Center Aalborg, and get the opportunity to get to know some of the Armed Forces’ facilities.

About us
The Norwegian Armed Forces are one of Denmark’s largest property owners, and it is the capacity centers in Denmark that plan, coordinate and carry out most renovation and maintenance tasks on the building mass and on the technical facilities. Capacity center Aalborg is one of 11 capacity centers nationwide, and we are responsible for a geographical area that stretches from Dronninglund in the north to Hobro in the south. Within this area, we handle the renovation and maintenance of many super exciting facilities. The facilities range from small home guard farms with individual buildings to large establishments such as Flyvestation Aalborg with approx. 160,000 m2 building mass.

Among the buildings we have ordinary buildings such as workshops, office buildings and accommodation buildings, but we also have a large number of more atypical facilities hidden behind the perimeter fence. It is e.g. large aircraft hangars, outdoor shooting ranges, jump tower for skydiving, runways with associated installations and much more.

Capacity center Aalborg was newly established in the summer of 2022, and is still under construction. Our team currently consists of of 8 employees and the head of the capacity centre.

We have a daily life that is characterized by a free and unpretentious tone, where we help each other to reach the goal with the projects. None of us are good at everything, but together we are super good at what we do.

We attach great importance to collegial unity, and prioritize e.g. to hold a joint summer party and Christmas lunch. In addition, we are good at organizing a number of events throughout the year, such as joint dining and ski trip etc.

About the position
You will be employed with a permanent duty station at Aalborg Airport. From here you drive out to your projects within the Capability Center’s geographical area.

You will be responsible for your own project portfolio, which will of course be adapted as you feel ready for the tasks, and you always have the opportunity to spar with your colleagues about the tasks. The typical tasks will be in the range of 100,000 – 5,000,000 kroner.

You are involved in the entire process at the Capabilities Centre, from the very beginning, where we prioritize which projects are to be launched, right up to the handing over of the projects and subsequent 1 and 5 year inspections.

Cooperation and communication are two of the most important keywords for you to be successful in the position. When a project has been prioritized, you will have the initial dialogues with the users of the individual locations, so that it is ensured that the project meets the needs of the users and is carried out with the least possible inconvenience to them in their daily life.
Subsequently, you prepare tender materials for the project and obtain prices. Depending on the complexity of the projects, it is possible to assign one of our project managers to assist with this. It is also possible to draw on external advisers when this is necessary.
Once the offers have been received and a contract has been signed, you take care of the implementation of the projects, including start-up review, supervision, construction meetings, safety meetings, delivery business and 1 and 5 year inspections.

A large part of our tasks are offered under a framework agreement, and we therefore have close cooperation with a number of framework suppliers who are known at our establishments.

Although we at Kapatitsuscenter Aalborg are skilled, we cannot do it all ourselves. We therefore have a large number of skilled colleagues across the Danish Property Agency’s other departments and sections, with whom you will also work closely.

It is very much a position where freedom under responsibility is not just something we say, but also something we practice. You plan the implementation of your project portfolio yourself, and you have the option of entering into an agreement on homework up to 2 days a week. In addition, we have flexible working hours. In other words, this is a position where a good work-life balance is possible.
