Civil Engineer IV

This is responsible administrative and professional civil engineering work supervising a major engineering branch of the Lancaster County Engineer’s Office.

Work involves responsibility for supervising multiple design and construction projects relating either to road or bridge design and construction. An employee in this class is expected to resolve problems of the highest technical nature. Supervision is exercised over professional engineers and subordinates engaged in survey, design, inspection, and related engineering functions.

Qualifications: Registration as a professional engineer with the State of Nebraska plus considerable experience in the practice of civil engineering which includes some supervisory experience.

Employees must work a least 30 hours per week to be eligible for insurance benefits.

Vacation leave, sick leave, and holidays are prorated for part time employees based upon the hours worked per week.

Temporary, seasonal, and on-call employees are not eligible for benefits.
