Job Summary

 

 

This Control Engineer will work with a multi-disciplinary group of engineers, designers, and drafters providing technical services to public and private sector clients. They will support industrial applications related to process manufacturing, aerospace, chemical processing, and municipalities. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is passionate and competent in control system studies and design. Bring your curiosity and growth mindset to this exciting role!

 

 

The Responsibilities

 

  • Supporting control systems testing, equipment commissioning, field testing, industrial communication protocol setup/testing, VFD configuration and testing, and system acceptance including operational readiness testing.
  • PLC, DCS, HMI and SCADA system planning, design, programming, troubleshooting, and upgrade.
  • Developing drawings and specifications for construction.
  • Equipment selection, cost estimating, and equipment layout and coordination with other engineering disciplines.
  • On-call (after hours and weekends), if required by the projects.

 

 

The Requirements

 

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, and 5+ years of experience in PLC programming and HMI or SCADA configuration, with 1 year of field experience. In lieu of a college degree, additional experience will be considered.

  • Working knowledge of piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and motor control schematics.
  • Demonstrated ability using Ethernet and control system communication protocols.
  • Experience with Rockwell, Wonderware, and similar PLC/HMI software.
  • Traveling 25-50% of the year may be required.
  • A registered professional engineer is preferred.
