Laser Access LLC services our military/defense, aerospace, medical, automotive, heavy trucks and machine equipment industries. We specialize in close tolerance fabrications supported by well-experienced engineering and quality teams, including a top of the line CMM inspection room.

Our sales are growing and we have scheduled projects through 2026 and well beyond. With this growth, we are looking for a Design Engineer to design and develop check fixtures, weld fixtures, machining fixtures, along with other ideas to make production more efficient.with fabrication and project management experience.

This is a hands-on role with a presence on the production floor, as well as in the office to help streamline projects from Engineering to Production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze job orders, drawings, prints, specifications, and design data for all assigned projects.
  • Develop and maintain consistent, clear standard operating procedures.
  • Effectively communicate to operators how the machines, fixture and part processes are to be used.
  • Work with production to recognize potential project problems quickly and seek advice from the Project Manager.
  • Document design changes and update work instructions as required.
  • Set up and ren design review meetings with team members relevant to the project.
  • Review product design and implement labor/quality improvements.
  • Assist with nesting design, creating jobs and supporting the production floor.
  • Assist team members in other engineering projects as required.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering preferred.
  • Technical knowledge and experience reading blueprints, drawings, and GD&T
  • 5-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, metal fabrication, design, or similar environment
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience, particularly Excel
  • Design experience using Solid Works preferred.
  • Experience with JobBoss, or related, ERP software a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
