Design Engineer

The Opportunity

The Faculty of Engineering currently have an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer to join the team!

In this role, you will work within the new Smart Manufacturing Hub to support students undertaking the Faculty’s new Industry innovation program, as well as providing support to the wider Engineering Technical Services network. You will have the opportunity to work alongside leading researchers and talented students to build data-driven, automated technologies to bolster the competitiveness of Australian Manufacturing. You may be required to train, instruct or induct users on the safe use of equipment and systems in relevant work areas within the Faculty.

Ideally, you will have practical experience in machining and fabrication, working with electronics, composites, 3D printing, laser cutting, and CNC machining, as well as evidence of your ability to develop a system, part or product from initial concept design all the way through to validation.

As the successful candidate, you will be listed on the National Engineers Register, or be able to meet the requirements in the future.
