Design Engineering Technician
SUMMARY
An Amphenol Industrial Operations (AIO) Design Engineering Tech will work with the Design Engineering team on new and existing business spanning many markets and business opportunities. They will work directly with AIO’s products as well as customer designs that AIO is producing. The position reports to the Director of Engineering and takes day to day direction from the Engineering Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow all safety policies and procedures and practices minimizing risk and striving for “Zero” incidents
- Adhere to methods, policies and processes set forth by the engineering management team
- To review and improve current product drawings
- Assigning part numbers
- Creating parts drawings
- Create Bills of Material (BOM)
- Work with “build to print” cable assemblies from customers to release internal drawings
- Writing Engineering Change Notifications (ECN)
- Creating 1:1 scale mylars of current technical drawings for production use
- Utilize problem solving skills and offer suggestions on improvements, applying creativity when applicable
- Communicate the needs to our NPI (New Product Introduction) assemblers as they prove out the drawings
- Interact with engineering to verify and interpret technical information and data
- Communicate with customers regarding their documents
- Utilize continuous improvement mindset when approaching work
- 5S/Housekeeping
- Other duties as assigned by management
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
1. High School diploma or equivalent, Associates Degree in Engineering or related field preferred
2. 0-2 years’ experience in related field preferred internship and co-op experience acceptable
3. Ability to interpret engineering drawings is a must
4. Experience and competence with SolidWorks, DraftSight or equivalent CAD program
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, including being able to work with all levels of the organization
6. Must possess attention to detail
7. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
8. Possess ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks within a fast-paced environment
9. Must have computer proficiency MS Office Suite with an intermediate skill level in Excel
10. Demonstrated fluency in technical concepts
11. Must be fluent in English

Pay: $70,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
