About the branch
Located in the City Operations Directorate, the Customer Experience and Communication branch leads all external marketing, communication, digital, community engagement, customer experience and web services areas on behalf of the City of Gold Coast (City).
About the role
Do you have a flair for social media and an understanding of digital marketing? We’re looking for someone to help produce and implement high quality and engaging content for our social and digital marketing channels.
The Digital Marketing Assistant will support the Digital Marketing & Social Media Officer in creating and scheduling content that can be used on a range of social media platforms to engage with our communities.
Along with enthusiasm for digital marketing, creative flair, and the right technical know-how, it’s important you can flourish as a member of our close-knit team and demonstrate the City’s shared values.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Collaborate on the management and administration of the social media calendar
- Produce and deliver the eNewsletter ‘Gold Coast Weekly’
- Work with internal stakeholders to deliver elements of social media campaigns
- Monitor social media audience interaction and actively engage with audiences on all channels
- Source brief and/or produce multimedia content (e.g. Audio/Visual) for placement on owned social media channels
- Assist with associated reporting, statistics and trends
- Deliver communication activities to meet operational and project-related requirements.
About You
- Some experience in a social/digital communications role would be advantageous however a can-do attitude and desire to learn is most important
- Ability to develop and deliver engaging web and social media content appealing to a range of target audiences
- Knowledge on best practices and emerging trends in social media in key platforms including but not limited to Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube
- Experience in social media copywriting and content creation
- Savvy skills in eDM campaign platform
- A demonstrated ability to draw conclusions on social media and eDM activity performance
- Apositive relationship building approach and effective stakeholder management skills
- Effective multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks
- Basic skills in photo editing and video editing
- A passion for growing their career in social media and digital marketing
