SUMMARY: Oversees and maintains the schools in a condition of operating excellence so that full educationaluse of it may be made at all times.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.Assembles, installs, tests and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.Connects wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.Advises management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.Tests electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.Maintains current electricians license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.Plans layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.Directs and trains workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.Prepares sketches or follows blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.Installs ground leads and connects power cables to equipment, such as motors.Performs business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment.Works from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.Places conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pulls insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.Constructs and fabricates parts, using hand tools and specifications.Fastens small metal or plastic boxes to walls to house electrical switches or outlets.Performs physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.Low voltage, fire, burglar alarm systems knowledge a must.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: NoneQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Master Electricians License.LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenanceinstructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Abilityto speak effectively before groups.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions,percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability tointerpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and dealwith several abstract and concrete variables.OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the schoolcommunity.
