Facilities System Engineering, Full Time
As a Facilities Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for generating and maintaining all needed plans, documents, and work instructions to keep all assigned facilities functioning efficiently and reliably. Serve as the focal point for facilities requirements relating to equipment purchases and relocations. Coordinate with the Facilities Manager on contracted services affecting the proper functioning of assigned facilities and equipment and ensure the proper functioning of the Preventative Maintenance System.
Functions & Responsibilities
In the role of the Facilities Systems Engineer:
- You will maintain and update all electronic and paper Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Civil engineering plans, specifications and documents relating to assigned facilities.
- You will negotiate service contracts and provide service instructions as necessary for all operationally critical facilities support services including the building structure and its mechanical, electrical, safety, plumbing and civil systems.
- You will be the focal point for all facilities related matter for any planned equipment purchases, equipment relocations and facilities upgrades.
- You will ensure that the PM systems supporting the facility maintenance activities is functioning properly and supporting the needs of the Company.
- You will, in conjunction with the Facilities Manager, coordinate on all needed repairs to damaged or worn buildings and equipment.
Job Requirements
The skills you will need to succeed:
- You must be able to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
- You must have the ability to plan, organize, direct, and control the work of others, to include assigned personnel and contractors.
- You must quickly and accurately troubleshoot problems relating to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and other facilities systems and affect needed repairs.
Educational Requirements
Education & Experience of a successful candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in facilities management is highly desirable.
