OCEANR was founded in Cork, Ireland, in 2016 by three friends looking to create the world’s first eco-friendly rash vest for the water sports and leisure sectors. Role
At OCEANR, we’re looking for a highly creative and experienced lead graphic designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio of work demonstrating creative thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to manage various projects and team members. You will create concepts, designs, and layouts for various clothing projects. You will work closely with account managers and other designers to ensure projects are on brand and meet client objectives.
The ideal candidate will manage 4-6 designers, so time and people management are essential skill sets.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for all design projects, big and small
- Understand project requirements and objectives, and develop creative solutions that meet or exceed expectations
- Create original designs that are both on-brand and visually appealing, utilising a variety of software programs, including Adobe Creative Suite
- Effectively manage multiple projects at various stages of development while adhering to strict deadlines
- Collaborate with team members, including the sales manager and other designers.
- Present concepts and designs to clients or upper management for feedback and approval
- Make revisions to designs based on feedback received, ensuring that all changes are implemented promptly.
- Stay up-to-date on current design trends and best practices, and share this knowledge with team members.
- Maintain accurate records of all projects from start to finish, including files, revisions, and client feedback
- Assist with training and mentoring junior-level designers and interns
- Manage outside vendors and freelancers as needed, ensuring that all deliverables meet quality standards and are completed on time and within budget
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Manage team holidays and sick leave.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, fashion design, or a similar discipline
- 5+ years experience (academic and professional) with design software, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Coreldraw, etc.
- Proven experience leading a team of designers with a strong portfolio of work
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Organisational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Creativity and innovative design skills
- Flexibility to take on multiple projects at one time
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- 3+ years in professional graphic design, preferably with a creative or marketing agency
- Understanding of fashion design and 3D presentation skills.
- Photography experience and proficiency with photo-editing software
- Desire to continue to grow the skill set with ongoing education and training
- Leadership experience in a design field
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: €45,000.00-€65,000.00 per year
