We are searching for a Highway/Road Engineer that shall provide technical services in the area of their expertise to fulfill company’s and client’s expectations. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Carries out the tasks assigned by the Head of department in a diligent and effective manner, meeting deadlines and avoiding errors.
- Shows initiative by suggesting to their superior alternative and/or innovative methods of executing the tasks assigned while demonstrating a proactive attitude.
- Supports the tender department in the preparation of drawings, methodologies and technical solutions required for the preparation of tenders.
- Takes ownership of client issues reported and see problems through to resolution.
- Researches, diagnoses and identifies solutions to resolve customer issues.
- Follows standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams.
- Ensures recording and closure of all issues including preparation of accurate and timely reports.
- Logs and keeps records of customer/sub-contractors queries.
- Works with field engineers to visit customers/company projects and conducts site visits when necessary.
- Facilitates positive relationships between company, client and sub-contractors/ suppliers to achieve the projects design and construction goals.
- When assigned, represents the department in official meetings related with the project and disseminate all information to head of department and all involved with the project.
- Implements and maintains Company’s policies and its IMS system.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- REQUIRED SKILLS
- Minimum qualification BSc Civil Engineering,
- Minimum post graduate experience; 15 years,
- Software proficiency: AutoCad, Civil 3-D or equivalent, MsWord and Excel
- Willing to learn other design software as per company policy,
- Skilled in all aspects of highway design, (ie creation of DTM, 3D digital mapping, laying out road projects and complete project modelling producing plans, profiles, cross-sections, earthwork quantities evaluation, etc.,
- Able to carry out feasibility studies to assess optimum road solutions,
- Minimum 15 years hand-on experience in design of rural and urban roads and streets including major interchanges and junction,
- Report writing skills in English language a must,
- Previous experience in Oman or GCC an advantage,
- Ability to present, discuss and defend design choices to colleagues and client,
- Willing to work as part of team including interaction with other engineering disciplines.
