Job Description Summary

This position serves as a manufacturing plant-based human capital resource who is responsible for managing the core human resources business functions. Reporting to the Human Resources Director-Field and partnering with regional Human Resources Business Partners will be responsible to foster and promote a highly positive culture and best-in-class employee experience, to positively impact how team members experience organizational change, and to be a strategic partner in driving division results, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties

  • Assisting with the administration and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements as appropriate
  • Collaborating cross-functionality to steer appropriate HR initiatives for the company in a timely and professional manner.
  • Responding to employee concerns and provide employee relations guidance to managers.
  • Participating in the development and execution of department goals, objectives and systems that directly impact HR initiatives and overall business plans for the company.
  • Driving employee engagement through action planning, communication, and talent development.
  • Serving as a point of contact for manufacturing plant staff to assist them with daily HR related duties and questions including but not limited to: FMLA, leave of absence, short-term disability benefits, etc.
  • Partnering as the link between operations and talent acquisition.
  • Supporting department programs such as employee wellness, employee onboarding and training, employee referral program, affirmative action plans, and more.
  • Coaching, training and supporting employee development
  • Performing back-up duties within HR department to cover vacations and other absences as needed.
  • Regular and punctual attendance and physical presence in the workplace.
  • Timely and accurate completion of duties.
  • Occasional travel to corporate office in Madison, WI, and visits to plants across greater Wisconsin, up to 33% of the time.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
This position requires an associate degree in human resources or related field of study, knowledge related to the job and three to five years of job-related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.

The employee is occasionally (up to 33% of the time) required to walk and stand. The employee must occasionally (up to 33% of the time) lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work Environment – The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate.
  • Protective Equipment – This position may need personal protective equipment that is appropriate for the job being performed, such as hearing protection, food safety clothing and other.
