Managing and orchestrating global supply chains in today’s complex and volatile world requires accurate, timely, and consistent information. We are building the next generation of data stores that will hold the operational truth about our shipments. They are a key component within our strategic IT ecosystem initiative. Creating this Data Product is a challenge beyond technology. It requires solid domain knowledge to shape, formalize, and evolve the related data flow sustainably – especially in our complex and fast-paced business environment. Finding the right balance between the level of detail, structural complexity, standardization, maintainability, time-to-market, and ease of use will be the decisive factor in delivering a successful Data Product. YOUR ROLE
As IT Business Analyst for our Shipment Data Products, you will be the domain and application expert working closely with the engineering team. You will take a vital role in designing and maintaining the conceptual and logical domain model behind our Shipment Data Products covering Sea, Air, and Road Logistics. You translate usage scenarios and demands relevant to our stakeholders into development-ready user stories. You will work closely with the highly skilled engineering team in Hamburg, Wroclaw, and Porto and support throughout the entire software lifecycle.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
* You support all Product Management-related tasks required for building and operating our Shipment Data Products.
* Support the product team with requirements engineering: you determine the requirements of a use case and support suits prioritization.
* You specify user stories and epics to translate the roadmap into manageable items that to be implemented according to agile principles.
* You test implemented features and support the team with root cause analyses in the case of bugs.
* You support Product Management by articulating tactical and strategic requirements to management, business stakeholders, and developers.
* You support maintaining the product-related documentation.
* You provide guidance, support, and mentorship to other team members.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
* 3+ years’ experience with requirements engineering/feature specification in software development.
* Strong written and verbal communication, including technical writing skills in English. You enjoy writing precise user stories and have profound experience writing good documentation.
* Ability to collect and analyze requirements, abstract, and communicate complex content to different groups of stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
* Experience in working with data modeling or other formal specification in complex environments, ideally at an enterprise scale.
* Self-starter, you are able to lead and motivate the team in a dynamic environment.
* Team player, you enjoy working together in a collaborative manner and have a willingness to uplift and empower others.
* Master’s degree in logistics domain with demonstrable technical aptitude or master’s degree in technical domain (computer or natural science, engineering, economics) with demonstrable logistics interest.
* Experience with the applied tech stack is a plus (Jira, Confluence, Enterprise Architect, AWS, Kafka, XML/XSD, Avro)
* Fluent in spoken and written English. German is a plus.
