Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
experienced Mechanical Engineer for a position based in Melbourne, Victoria, with commercial air conditioning experience. This role will provide engineering expertise for the assessment and planning, design, and application of value-engineered solutions for site installations.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will work across national projects within a high-performing and focussed team offering genuine career growth opportunity.
About the role;
Key functions will include;
Liaising with senior contract representatives to obtain and use contract specification and drawings to determine specific technical requirements of the project
Building surveys, assessing site design requirements, reviewing architectural details, and preparing a design brief
Assessing building construction elements and using manual and software applications, preparing heat load estimate utilising the understanding of air movement principals
Scheduling equipment to meet with drawing office and project management requirements
Conducting engineering design checks in accordance with work task documents
Reporting on engineering hours spent against budget and advise of any variations
You also have:
Mechanical Engineering Degree
Proven knowledge and experience working within a technical design focussed HVAC/Mechanical engineering role
Solid understanding of current NCC/BCA and all applicable Codes and Standards
Well-developed MS Office skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
The ability to manage project priorities and communicate effectively with all
Self-motivated and commitment to continuous improvement
The ability to think creatively and provide solutions
Experience construction engineering design and HVAC plant layouts.
