Job Description
Mechanical design and development of Engineered solutions, installed on specific Cat equipment and machines, for compliance with site and industry specific requirements
Providing professional Engineering advice to other areas of the business and customers based upon relevant Australian and International standards
Troubleshooting and investigation of issues and concerns experienced by customers to develop optional solutions for Cat equipment and machines
Design and development of a range of standard options for fitment to multiple machines and ranges of equipment
Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with extensive demonstrated post qualification experience within heavy industry
Ability to produce manual design calculations and professional engineering documentation
Experience with computer aided design (CAD, AutoDesk Inventor)
Commitment to the importance of safety and experience with safety and risk assessments
Good communication and time management skills
Understanding of Australian and International design standards and guidelines
Desirable
Experience with AutoDesk Inventor.
Experience with safety and risk assessment.
Experience in finite element analysis (FEA)
Knowledge of design for fabrication and equipment manufacture
Experience with mining machinery and mobile plant / vehicle design
