We are seeking a talented, creative and experienced product owner to join our growing team! If you want to use your product acumen to help world-renowned nonprofits advance their missions, this may be the
place for you.

How can you make an Impact

Enterprise nonprofits use our SaaS platform, with its suite of online fundraising, advocacy, email, SMS, events, and peer-to-peer tools; to interact with supporters at scale. As Product Owner for Engaging Networks, you will partner with product managers, engineers, UI/UX and stakeholders to develop tools to create rich, dynamic and adaptive experiences for our clients.

We seek an individual who will apply creative and analytical approaches throughout product delivery.

You will operate in an environment that requires excellent problem-solving skills and exceptional team collaboration. Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to prioritize and a desire to facilitate building great products are a must. This role reports to our Head of Product.

What you will do

  • Work with CEO, CTO, Head of Product, product managers and stakeholders across the company to develop solutions for the key problems to be solved
  • Build a deep understanding of the Engaging Networks platform, its dashboard, APIs, how data flows and the goals of users and supporters who interact with the toolset
  • Write clear and well-structured product requirements documents to communicate which capabilities must be included in product releases
  • Collaborate or facilitate design sprint sessions to incorporate stakeholders’ firsthand ‘problems to solve’ into well rounded solutions
  • Work directly with designers to build out UI and UX for features, informed by discovery, previous ‘feature requests’ while balancing technical restraints and scope availability
  • Work closely with the engineers and product managers to ensure we are building the right solution at all stages
  • Create and manage tickets in Jira, and track roadmap ideas and initiatives through Aha!
  • Maintain a groomed backlog of — and prioritize stories for — development, effectively managing scope and trade-offs
  • Facilitate the design process, participate in user research efforts, working alongside product managers to synthesize the user feedback into a prioritized backlog
  • Liaise with the documentation team and Client Support team to provide guidance for them as they support our clients in using the software
  • Work alongside product managers and marketing to help guide implementation plans of new features
  • Define clear acceptance criteria of tickets and features, to aid development scope
  • Liaise with QA to promote effective testing, enabling secure and stable software releases

What can you bring to the role?

  • 4+ years of Technical Product Manager, Product Owner, Business Analyst, or experience in product solutions
  • Comfortable in agile/Kanban
  • Skills at evaluating options and generating solutions
  • Enjoy working alongside software product development teams solving complex challenges
  • Capable of writing PRDs for API-based solutions and SaaS based features ; enjoy collaborating closely with engineering
  • Success coordinating, collaborating and negotiating across teams of software developers, quality engineers, designers, and customer-facing teams
  • A track record of shipping intuitive, user-centered products at scale
  • Having a strong understanding of how data can move between systems and how it’s represented
  • Ability to handle complexity, process new information quickly, and manage dynamic projects with competing resources and priorities
  • You are a self-starter who works proactively to understand and address the challenges/opportunities ahead of you and your team
  • Strong communication skills. You are comfortable presenting information tailored to varied audiences.
  • Effective at explaining technical ideas to non-technical professionals, and translating what they tell you into technical requirements
  • Strong product ownership mindset, to deliver the best possible product to our customers

Nice to haves

  • Passion for, or experience in, technology for nonprofits
  • Enterprise/Platform Software experience
  • Familiarity with APIs and their usage
  • Understanding of Salesforce (we have an integration)
  • Familiarity in the areas of Email, SMS, content builders, reporting tools, advocacy software or peer to peer fundraising
