Carroll’s of Tullamore is part of Sofina Foods, one of the largest food manufacturing producers in Canada, manufacturing the market leading brand Carroll’s of Tullamore. Carroll’s is the number 1 brand in the Republic of Ireland for Cooked Meats, Ready Meals and Garlic Bread in their respective categories.

We are currently recruiting for Quality Manager to join the Technical Team in in Tullamore.

Main Duties include:

• Ensure compliance with quality management systems, policies, procedures, and protocols
• Ensure the highest factory standards are implemented and adhered to and the site is audit ready at all times.
• Drive a strong culture of continuous improvement from both a quality and food safety perspective.
• Manage and develop the Quality team by means of mentoring & training as well as identifying strengths and weaknesses.
• Ensure that all products produced are of the highest Safety and Quality standards according to agreed customer specifications and legal requirements.
• Manage the Hygiene Team to ensure that cleaning is conducted effectively and maintained at the highest standard, driving continuous improvement.
• A key member of the site TACCP, HACCP, Internal and GMP Audit teams.
• Management of specifications (supplier, customer & internal)

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Third level degree qualification in a scientific food discipline and equivalent experience within the food industry
• A minimum of 2 years experience in a lead quality role within a similar industry
• Knowledge of auditing, quality standards and systems, quality management techniques such as HACCP, Process Control and knowledge of food legislation.
• Familiarity with retailer specification management platforms an advantage.
• Excellent communication & organisational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated and an ability to work on own initiative.
• Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships between the quality function and other functions.
• Competency in MS Office to include word and excel.

Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 5pm, Friday 8:30am – 4pm

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: €40,000.00-€45,000.00 per year
