About the role

We seek to appoint a Research Assistant Audiologist/Physical Therapist to support the Horizon Health funded vestibular neuroscience project TeleRehabilitation of Balance clinical and economic Decision Support System – TeleRehabDSS. TeleRehaB DSS targets the promotion of AI adoption in everyday clinical practice for balance rehabilitation training. An AI-based decision support system (DSS) will be developed expanding upon the existing Augmented Reality (AR) rehabilitation training platform, with its balance exercises, exergames, cognitive training and remote patient monitoring with wearables and IoT devices from HOLOBALANCE project. This will provide suggestive feedback for experts through the entire clinical rehabilitation pathway for high need patients: those with balance impairment after stroke or in the presence of mild cognitive impairment or long Covid. About you

The post-holder will be based at the UCL Ear Institute and UCL Institute of Neurology/National Hospital for Neurology Neurosurgery where the clinical study will take place. He/she will be employed by UCL with an honorary contract at the Hospital where the project takes place. The post holder will be expected to support the project, the PI Prof Bamiou and CoInvestigators Prof Kaski, Dr Koohi and Dr Pavlou in the TeleRehabDSS research. This 100% full time post is available for 36 months from 01 December 2022 until the 30th November 2025. The post-holder would be expected to apply for and supported to obtain a scholarship for PhD tuition fees at UCL.
