Risk Manager
Natchez Trace Youth Academy is a highly-structured 115-bed cognitive behavioral program serving adolescent males aged 10-17 years old. Our interdisciplinary staff helps residents refocus their thinking patterns in order to improve their actions/behavior. Our diverse team works together to facilitate the changes that become an investment in the future of each young man’s life and his family’s life. We are located in the beautiful hills of Tennessee between two magnificent rivers, just 15 miles south of Waverly, Tennessee. We seeking a dynamic and talented Risk Manager to join our team of compassionate, dedicated professionals. Under the direction of the CEO, this position is responsible for coordinating the loss control efforts and advising management and administration on all potenial sources of loss and for making recommendations to minimize or eliminate exposure. The structure and functions of the Risk Management Program are designed to comply with guidelines and standards of CARF and other regulatory agencies.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensures appropriate and timely reporting of occurrences by maintaining a Healthcare Peer Reporting system (Occurrence notification system)
- Receives and investigates reports of product problem to determine appropriate response and establish record keeping responsibilities. In the event of patient injury, established direction from Corporate Risk Management in the appropriate action or strategy.
- Networks with medical staff to ensure active involvement and participation; Risk identification, risk analysis, and risk reduction/loss prevention problem solving and program development designed to benefit the clinical aspects of patient care and safety.
- Works in conjunction with the Corporate Risk Management team to analyze trends for quality improvement and collaborates on investigations.
- Responds to alleged patient health information privacy and HIPAA breaches.
- Acts as the primary site contact for the Tennessee DCS Department of PREA and Child Protective Services
- Acts as the primary site contact for the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.
- Plans and presents Risk Management training to all new employees during new hire orientation and refreshers thereafter.
- Demonstrates all Service Excellence standards and principles.

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Minimum technical school or Associate’s degree. Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Three years management/leadership experience
- Five years experience in a psychiatric in-patient facility with knowledge of high-risk areas
- Valid state Driver’s License
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
