At Medtronic Diabetes , we are looking for an Enterprise Architect who will be a lead member of our Architecture team and have the responsibility to align our Diabetes Operating Unit strategy and plan with technology roadmaps and blueprints.

Digital Technology – Architecture

An Enterprise Architect is a key member of the Architecture team, the role is focused on developing strategic reference architecture and blueprints for the systems that align with business strategy, providing overall technical vision (north star) to the digital technology team, and bringing in a “big-picture” perspective to adaptation of new ideas.

Location: Northridge, CA or Metro Atlanta, GA

This position will be a hybrid role based in Northridge, CA or Atlanta, GA. The anticipated schedule would be 3 days in office and 2 days remote.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Lead system / platform architecture roadmap definition & planning; research, evaluate, and prototype new technologies & products; perform fit gap analysis for system modernization, rationalization, and consolidation.
  • Define, describe, diagram, and document current, transitional and target state (north star) of Digital Technology architecture roadmaps that supports global business units.
  • Introduce common principles and frameworks to effectively collaborate on different aspects of architectural and business process changes.
  • Work with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and product managers to develop a heat map of current and future business capabilities with respect to the maturity of current systems and platforms.
  • Evaluate possible challenges and constraints including, risks, time, resources, security, compliance, and scope for new product and process launch.
  • Collaborate and communicate across the organization to identify high value use cases and sell the north star architecture to key stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Identify solutions to complex and ambiguous problems, working across organizational boundaries sometimes pioneering the solutions and brining other along the way.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of work experience in leading digital technology/IT/software engineering programs or advanced degree with 8 years of work experience in leading digital technology/IT/software engineering programs

Nice to Haves:

  • Background in technology and management consulting firms (Big 5)
  • Experience working as a technical team leader or Solutions Architect or Enterprise Architect.
  • Proficient in CRM, eCommerce, ERP, Integration frameworks, Data Analytics and Reporting.
  • Proven experience in
    • Developing strategic technology vision and north star roadmaps.
    • Introducing enterprise architecture frameworks like TOGAF, Zachman, SABSA, ANSI/ISA 95 in technology organization.
    • Creating artifacts (diagrams, plans, budgets) to support and implement strategic vision.
    • Preparing and presenting strategic vision story and corresponding business values to senior leadership and C-suite executives.
  • Knowledgeable in
    • Cloud Services with AWS/ Azure, and different deployment models with IaaS, PaaS on Compute, Storage, Network & Security Architecture.
    • Salesforce Platform, SAP platform, SOA, Micro-services, Event driven architecture, Integration suite (like MuleSoft, WebMethods, SAP PO, Gateway), and Data Architecture (Master data Management, data modelling, data migrations, analytics & reporting),
    • Understanding as-is business process, identifying process gaps, and advocating for re-engineering process if needed.
    • Transforming the organization in areas of DevOps, Automation, Cloud/ AI
  • Demonstrated ability to collaboratively work in a matrix organization and positively influence strategy and outcomes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with focus on improved system performance outcomes and positive business impact.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills (timely, clear, concise, accurate, conclusive, influential, targeted to audience).
  • Good negotiation skills to align and work towards shared outcome-based goals.
