About the opportunity

Here’s What You’ll Need:
As a successful candidate you will have suitable qualifications in an appropriate field such as environment engineering, sustainability and related disciplines and extensive technical experience in material resource efficiency and implementation of circular economy approaches to minimize waste and pollution.
- Ideally have 10 years’ experience in solid waste management, including strategies for waste minimization, recycling, and solid waste logistics.
- Experience in technical feasibility of discarded materials technologies and infrastructure.
- Advanced understanding of recycling policies and ability to contribute to development of policy and guidelines on strategic advisory projects.
- Extensive knowledge of the middle east solid waste market and opportunities is highly preferrable including previous experience with key stakeholders and authorities.
- The selected candidate shall have excellent multidisciplinary coordination skills and ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a wider audience.
- Advanced understanding/experience in supporting ESIAs and masterplans is preferable.
- Preferably with experience in countries with evolved environmental regulatory and legislative structures, with ideally 5 years of GCC regional market experience with prior exposure and understanding of key clients, regional growth strategies, and critical environmental issues being faced by the region.
Outline of preferred experience below:
- Technical leadership of solid waste strategies and plans.
- Experience in business development and bidding activities (technical and commercial).
- Leading material resource input to sustainability credit systems and KPIs.
- Experienced in multidisciplinary coordination on design projects.
- Ability to review architectural drawings and provide design input.
- Ability to lead the development of drawings and equipment specification for solid waste systems.
- Appreciation of Circular Economy Frameworks and implementation.
- Experience in supporting development of ESIAs in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Understanding of environmental regulations across key middle east markets such as KSA, UAE & Qatar.
- Ability to train and mentor junior staff
