Located in Great Yarmouth, be part of a new project to construct a quayside facility for use by the offshore energy industry. It includes design and construct of a floating berth (pontoons, restraint piles, fixed bridges and articulating linkspans). Involving significant civils works including sheet piling, tubular piling, river works, land-based works, earthworks and associated supporting infrastructure bringing together technical, logistical and ecological challenges.

We are now looking for Site Agents to join our team on this exciting project!

What you will be doing

Manage labour/resource allocation and management of Site staff
Reporting to the Senior Manager on Department budget control procedures for contracts and progress against programme
Ensure & promote safe systems of work ensuring all safety guidelines are adhered to and the Company Safety Policy are practiced
Carry out site inductions and toolbox talks
Enforcement and monitoring of the Division’s Quality Assurance and Environmental systems
Management of projects/contracts/plant and materials
Manage specialist subcontractors
Motivation of staff
Communicating at all levels regarding progress of projects
Staff recruitment
Directly supervise Sub Agents, General Foreman
Indirectly supervise Site Engineer, Foreman and Gangers
What we will need from you

Essential Civil Engineering/Building qualification (Preferred BSc Degree in Civil Engineering)
Chartered status or approaching (desirable)
Evidence of relevant post-graduation practical training e.g., attendance on courses for Form of Contracts, Formwork/Falsework Appreciation, Concrete Technology, H & S Management etc.
Has held a similar position with a medium to major size Civil Engineering Contractor
Possesses proven experience on challenging and diverse projects with major clients e.g. National Highways, Water Companies
Proven experience from engineering background demonstrating progress to Site Agent through career development with both theoretical and practical experience
CSCS card, SMSTS (5 day), First Aid at Work (4 day) & National Water Hygiene card
Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes with clarity; experienced at encouraging direct reports to do the same and managing a team to ensure tasks are carried out effectively and key messages cascaded;
Excellent role model for development of team members and demonstrates required behaviours to align to project and team objectives.
Strong work ethic
Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility;
Excellent team player, able to work competently and independently without continuous supervision;
Strong communication skills with good interpersonal and influencing skills;
Solution orientated approach to issue resolution;
Knowledge of the construction process/Commercially and contractually aware
Awareness of quality and environmental practices within the business environment
Holds a UK driving licence
