The District Municipality of Muskoka is currently recruiting for a
Manager, Human Resources

The Opportunity
As the Manager, Human Resources you will be responsible for providing leadership and subject matter
expertise to management and staff in a variety of areas such as employee and labour relations, policy &
collective agreement interpretation, coaching, organizational design, staffing, investigations, attendance
management, training and development. The HR Manager will also have functional oversight of one or more
corporate HR programs (such as health, safety and wellness; disability management and attendance support;
recruitment and onboarding; employee engagement; and performance management).
What you will do: What you will need:
- Provide advice and coaching to managers and staff on
HR, and health and safety policies and procedures to
ensure consistent application and approve or escalate
exceptions, as applicable.
- Participate in or lead union contract negotiations
including assisting with the development of labour
negotiation strategies.
- Develop, update, recommend and implement HR
programs, policies and procedures and keep abreast
of developments and impending changes to legislation
and make recommendations to ensure compliance.
- Work with managers, staff and union representatives
in resolving employee and labour relations matters,
including grievances.
- Conduct investigations, advise on policy violations,
and make recommendations for corrective actions.
- A University degree specializing in Human
Resources, Labour Relations Management or
equivalent
- A minimum of six (6) years of HR experience,
including previous experience working with
one or more of the corporate HR program
areas. .
- Thorough and extensive knowledge of
provincial labour policies, procedures and
standards.
- Demonstrated labour and employee
relations experience is critical to the
success of this role

What we are offering
This is a permanent full-time opportunity at the District. This position is located in Bracebridge and currently
eligible for participation in a hybrid work plan. The annualized compensation range for this role is $97,363 –
$114,633. The District is also proud to offer the following to our permanent employees.
