CURRENT STATE EMPLOYEE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Current New York State employees with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service as a Plant Utilities Engineer 1.

GENERAL PUBLIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

You must supply a copy of your 55b/c eligibility letter and provide detailed information as to how you meet the minimum qualifications when responding.

There will be no written test and no test date is involved. The examination requires completion of an application/supplemental questionnaire (https://www.cs.ny.gov/extdocs/pdf/20-450&20-451.pdf). The supplemental questionnaire IS YOUR TEST. Your completed supplemental questionnaire will be the only basis for rating your training, education, and experience. Failure to complete the supplemental questionnaire correctly may result in disqualification. If disqualified, candidates must wait six months to re-apply.
Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, test, and calibrate mechanical and electrical equipment providing heat, hot water, ventilation, air conditioning, direct digital and analog control systems and electrical distribution. Use computer programs such as LATS, AIM, etc.
- Possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New York State motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Asbestos Supervisor certification required within 90 days of appointment as well as compliance with all related PESH/OSHA regulations.
- Utilities Management is a 24/7 operation, thus night, weekend and holiday work is required based on shift assignment and operational need.
