of complex construction projects as well as the ability to work in teams, but also to drive
projects independently? Then it could be you that we are looking for as one of our two new project managers
The Building and Construction Department, Project Section East with office in Kastellet in Copenhagen.

About us
The position is located in Project Section East, which together with Project Section West forms the Building and Construction Department at the Ministry of Defence’s Property Agency. The project department consists of 45
project managers who implement all construction projects within the Ministry of Defence
jurisdiction throughout Denmark.

The projects include new construction and construction, extension and conversion of everything from office facilities,
workshops, garages, depots and shooting simulators for aircraft hangars and harbor quays, depending on customer needs and priorities.

Project Section East is also the Competence Center for the Defense’s listed buildings and facilities and thus, in addition to building and construction projects, oversees maintenance, restoration and
modernization projects on the Defense’s listed buildings and facilities.

About the position
As a project manager, you will be part of the Competence Center for the Defense’s listed buildings and facilities, which oversees maintenance, restoration and modernization projects on the Defense’s listed buildings and facilities, which include includes Kastellet, Nyboder, Nyholm, Frederiksberg Castle and Christiansø.

The competence center is currently under construction as an independent section and currently consists of three project groups, nine project managers and a boss. In total, the competence center is expected to be staffed by 15 project managers and a project assistant.

The tasks are solved independently or in collaboration with colleagues in the Competence Centre, other units in the Ministry of Defence’s Property Agency, internal and external stakeholders, as well as external advisers and therefore require good cooperation and communication skills and the ability to maintain an overview and appear as the developer and owner of the project.

The nature of the task ranges from major restoration and remodeling projects to major and minor maintenance tasks and restoration professional advice within the Armed Forces. Finally, the maintenance supervision of the Defense’s listed buildings is carried out in the Competence Centre.

About you
You have a relevant educational background as an architect, engineer, building designer or equivalent, preferably with an IPMA certification or other documented project management experience from a client company, consulting architect or engineering firm or contractor. It is an advantage if you have experience of working with listed buildings, but it is not an absolute requirement.

You have documented experience in managing large, complex construction projects, including risk management as well as managing time, finances and quality within the agreed framework.

You have experience with contractual relations, tenders and construction law, and it is an advantage if you have knowledge of the rules, terms and processes that apply within government construction companies.

You naturally take leadership and ownership of your projects, have impact, decision-making ability and good social skills. We emphasize good collaboration and communication skills, the ability to plan and prioritize tasks. We expect you to create results with quality in accordance with set goals. You have good written and oral formulation skills in Danish and are strong in the use of IT systems.

As a person, you are structured, responsible and follow the tasks to the letter.
You are outgoing and get on well with other people at all levels, and are service minded and used to working independently. You are holistically oriented and work and think across the organisation.

Terms of employment
You will be employed and remunerated in accordance with the applicable collective agreement in the state. Depending on your qualifications and competences, you have the opportunity to negotiate supplements in connection with the employment. There is also an employer-funded pension scheme.

You will be employed with a fixed place of employment: Kastellet in Copenhagen.

As an employee in the Ministry of Defence’s organisation, you are covered by some special conditions. This means, among other things, that you must be able to obtain security clearance and be able to maintain this throughout the employment relationship.
