Position: Quality Engineer
About Us:
We are machine shop facility in Newfield NY, focusing on machining high precision components for Aerospace, Gas Turbine and Power Industry.
About the Role:
Following are some of the responsibilities for the role
1. Develop procedures and manufacturing methods from customer requirements – Specification and drawing
2. Collaborate with manufacturing engineering in design and development of gauges and fixtures for inspection.
3. Create, Implement and monitor job specific quality plans.
4. Inspect parts at final inspection to customer drawing and verify acceptance
5. Verify daily first piece inspection records for compliance to drawing
6. Prepare and submit First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) per customer requirements
7. Generate Conformance certs for shipments with parts
8. Work with inspection personnel on gage calibration and record maintenance
9. Conduct internal process audits and internal ISO audits for compliance to Standards
10. Work with customers on product issues, RC analysis and deviation disposition
11. Work with suppliers for on time delivery and quality
12. Develop CMM programs for final inspection
13. Assist in obtaining AS9100D certification
14. Perform FPI NDT inspection per specification
15. Assist engineering in developing CNC programs for mills and EDMs
16. Assist engineering in developing operation methods sheets in 3D & 2D
17. And other duties as required
Qualification we look for:
Bachelors in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering
5 years of experience in precision manufacturing for high pressure application
Knowledge on basic metallurgy and machining concepts
Experience in understanding GD&T concepts
Experience in developing layouts for inspection from drawing.
Experience in handling and calibrating inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, comparator, height gages, digi checks, depth gages, and gage blocks
CMM programming experience – PC DMIS software
Understanding basic statistics for sample size development and process control chart development
Experience in using 3D, 2D & CNC software – Solid works, Anvil and Master CAM
ISO/AS lead auditor or internal Auditor experience
Experience in lean initiatives – statistical methods and management methods

Pay: $66,000.00 – $86,000.00 per year
