Practices Joint Township District Memorial Hospital’s Professional Practice Model Principles. Responsible for delivery of patient care through the Nursing Process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Directs and guides patient teaching and activities of Nursing Ancillary Personnel. Assumes a lead role in patient teaching. Places the patient at the center of care practices. Collaborates and interacts positively with the interdisciplinary team to provide quality care and achieve desired outcomes. May be required to work other patient care units or shifts according to distribution of staff, patients, and/or patient acuity. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Licensure: License to practice professional nursing in the State of Ohio.
Experience: No previous experience required. Experience may be required by specific units: For ICU/CCU, previous experience is preferred.
Skills: Obtains successful completion of a Critical Care Course providing a knowledge base for care of the critically ill. Obtains and maintains successful completion of ACLS Provider Course.Obtains and maintains successful completion of PALS Provider Course.Completes 4 hours of annual education related to cerebral vascular disease and the care and treatment of the acute stroke patients including validating competency with NIHSS assessment.
Physical Effort: Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity, eye hand coordination, standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50-pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
