  • Full-time, continuing position
  • Salary range: $92,941 – $104,143 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Role

The Senior Project Officer: CDG is responsible for leading and managing the planning and delivery of projects in support of capital works and maintenance programs within the University’s built asset environment.

You will support the Manager: Capital Development and Project Management Team in the delivery of the approved Minor Capital Works Program. The projects within the program are identified each calendar year to meet specific corporate objectives and are aligned with the strategic objectives of the university. The projects have an individual value of up to $2M.

About UniSA’s Facilities Management Unit

The Facilities Management Unit (FMU) provides support to the University’s teaching, research and support functions in three primary areas, Capital Development, Campus Operations and Commercial Services.

Core Responsibilities

  • Project manage a portfolio of capital works and maintenance projects with individual values up to $2M
  • Deliver projects on time and budget in accordance with UniSA’s Technical Standards and relevant legislation
  • Elicit and interrogate stakeholders’ needs to develop robust Project Briefs for assigned projects
  • Develop detailed tender reports and prepare recommendations for approval of the Contract and Tender Panel and relevant senior managers per the Vice Chancellor’s Authorisations

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline i.e. Construction/Facilities Management, Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Property Related Field and/or demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience within industry
  • Demonstrated experience in analysing stakeholders’ needs and developing robust project briefs
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management principles, tools and techniques with a proven ability to achieve project objectives/quality outcomes within strict time and cost constraints
  • Experience in the effective leadership and management of multi-disciplinary project teams including technical and specialist resources and external consultants
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a complex and political environment and balance a range of priorities and expectations
