JOB DETAILS

A structural warranty provider are seeking a Building Inspector to join their home-based team on a permanent basis. Preferred applicants will be qualified to degree level or equivalent with new build inspection experience from a Building Regulations and/or structural warranty standpoint. Starting salary of up to £45,000.

Company clients include national house builders, developers and private clients within residential and commercial sectors. The role requires coverage of sites within and bordered by Stockport, Macclesfield, Northwich and Lymm.

As a Building Inspector, your role will involve the following:

  • Site inspections and surveys on projects that are either completed or under construction
  • Ensuring work is completed to a standard which complies with current regulations, technical manuals, and health and safety
  • Completing reports and documentation based on site findings
  • Frequent liaison with peers and management on technical matters

The successful Building Inspector will meet the following criteria:

  • Previous role experience as a Building Control / Structural Warranty Inspector or Clerk of Works
  • Associate/full member inspector status of RICS/CABE/CIOB/ICWCI
  • Degree/ NVQ Level 6 qualified in construction related discipline
  • Understanding of general insurance principles and defect diagnosis
  • Technical inspection knowledge throughout the build process
  • In depth knowledge of relevant regulations and health & safety legislation
  • Full UK driving licence
