Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Engineer Technician I is an entry-level support position for the Engineering department. This position performs assignments designed to support more experienced Engineering personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs specific tasks (under the guidance of a more senior Engineering team member) on existing standard product lines. Tasks may include drawing, layout, non-critical component design, non-critical circuit design/programming, etc.
  • Develops Engineering models and/or drawings (using company standards and tools) including Bills of Materials (BOMs). Ensures that documentation is clear, complete, accurate and compliant with appropriate company standards.
  • Processes assigned Engineering releases, change orders, change requests.
  • Provides production shop support, as required. Tasks may include fit-up of components to verify/resolve interference issues or other Engineering-related tasks.
  • Completes normal and required administrative tasks (time sheets, logs, etc.)
  • Becomes familiar with all company safety standards.
  • Performs all commitments/tasks in a timely and professional manner.
  • Performs other duties/responsibilities as required.

Education
  • AA degree in Engineering Design, Engineering Technology, or Related Field.
Experience and Skills
  • Education requirement or four years of related experience within an engineering environment; OEM environment preferred.
  • General knowledge of mechanical and control components and application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in completing a sequence of related Engineering tasks.
  • Experience in the following software packages is required
  • 2-D CAD (AutoCAD or equivalent)
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • 3-D CAD (SolidWorks) (Mechanical Engineering Technician only)
  • PLC and HMI Platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Visual Basic) (Electrical Engineering Technician Only)
  • Possesses good communication skills, a positive “get-it-done” attitude, and the ability to work as part of a team in a demanding production environment.
Physical Requirements
To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, an individual must be willing and able to
  • Travel as needed.
  • Sit at a desk or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Move about the office and factory with occasional lifting, bending and reaching.
  • Dial, hear and respond to telephone calls and inquiries.
  • Communicate effectively (visually and verbally) with internal and external contacts.
  • Meet requirements of daily attendance on job for a full, continuous work schedule.
The approximate pay range for this position is $39,840 – $59,760. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
