The opportunity:

The Graphic Designer works with Marketing Communications Office and is responsible for developing design solutions and providing production support for institutional web and digital projects and initiatives undertaken by the Office.

Reporting to Director Marketing and Creative, Marketing Communications Office, the ideal candidate is:

§ Develops design solutions across a range of digital and print platforms and initiatives.

§ Provides design support and develops creative video initiatives including storyboards, illustration, motion graphics.

§ Ensures digital initiatives, design deliverables, and files meet accessibility guidelines followed by the University.

§ Experience with digital/print design principles is required

The qualifications and experience we’re looking for:

· Undergraduate degree is required.

· Post- Secondary education in graphic design or visual communications is required.

· An acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered.

· GDC designation is preferred.

· Minimum of 1 year of directly related experience in a graphic design studio or agency, or a freelance graphic designer is required.

· Experience with digital/print design principles and best practices is required.

· An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

· interpersonal skills and strong communication skills is required.

· Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, After Effects), online work management software and web content management systems is required.

· Demonstrated ability to create effective design solutions for all platforms is required.

· Ability to adhere to established brand style guidelines is required.

· Ability to prioritize and work within and meet project deadlines is required.

· Ability to effectively work both independently and in collaboration with a team is required.

· Attention to detail and sound judgement is required.

· Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality is required.

Salary: $47,902.40-$66,775.80 per year
